Reflecting on the First Quarter of 2024
Hallo, haben Sie mich vermisst?
Hello, have you missed me?
It’s been a while since I last posted here. The past two years have been quite eventful for me, but now I’m back! Let’s catch up on what I’ve been up to from January to April 2024. But first, how have you been?
What have the past two years been like for you? For me, these years have been a whirlwind of learning and self-discovery. I’ve been on a journey to understand my emotions and myself better. Slowly but surely, I’ve started to come out of my shell. (Honestly, I started feeling clueless and in denial about a lot of things five years ago, haha.)

Have you felt like the last few years have been full of challenges? I know I have. We’ve all learned so much about triggers, emotions, disappointments, and scars.
But no matter where you are on your path, I want to say, you’re doing great for making it to this point.
My first quarter of 2024 has been all about validating my emotions. I’ve been feeling all the triggers that come up, learning to acknowledge, experience, and let them go. Sometimes I still cry, and sometimes I feel bad about myself, but I always come back stronger.
January 2024 seemed to carry the theme of not quite moving on from the holiday euphoria of December. The jet lag from shifting time zones—from GMT+1 and winter to GMT+7 with temperatures always above 30 degrees Celsius—was quite a challenge. My sleep schedule was off, and unpacking my suitcase took a few extra days.
From January to March, I took on the challenge of learning A1 German. It all started after an unplanned adventure last year, and I decided to check off a wishlist item by learning a new language. I also started writing essays because I’m trying to apply for scholarships.
Have you ever felt like you didn’t like your own reflection, whether in the mirror or on camera? I experienced that, and learning to love myself has been a big part of this journey.
I’m also trying to finish all the books I bought, learn some traditional dances, and get involved in activities outside the house to meet new people. Every day, I strive to make myself better.
When I look back, I realize I’m just trying to live.
But despite all the challenges, I’ve found moments of joy and growth. I’ve learned that it’s okay to take things one step at a time, to feel everything deeply, and to celebrate the small victories. This journey has taught me resilience, self-love, and the importance of staying true to myself.
So, here’s to the first quarter of 2024—full of ups and downs, lessons and growth. I’m excited about what the rest of the year holds, and I’m ready to face it all with an open heart and a determined spirit.
How about you? How have you been navigating through your journey? I’d love to hear about your experiences and what you’ve been working on.
